Security coordination meeting focuses on local elections

KATHMANDU: APRIL. 27 – On Tuesday, Baitadi and Darchula held an inter-district coordination meeting.

A coordination meeting between officials from the two districts was held in Darchula’s Balanch ahead of the May 13 local level election. According to Khagendra Bharati, Information Officer, District Administration Office, Baitadi, the meeting discussed issues related to local level election peace and security, as well as coordination with India.

The meeting also addressed issues such as the exchange of good practices, disaster management, the control of illegal weapons, the control of drugs, the control of forest product smuggling, and the control of wild animal poaching.

The meeting was attended by Baitadi Chief District Officer Rajendra Dev Pandey, Darchula Chief District Officer Dirgharaj Upadhyay, and the chiefs of both districts’ four security agencies.
