Beginning of sending of ballot papers to districts

KATHMANDU: APRIL. 27 – The Election Commission began sending printed ballot papers to districts on Tuesday for the May 13 local level member election-2079.

Ballot papers were loaded from the Janak Shiksha Samagri Kendra Limited office in Bhaktapur and transferred to 10 districts in Karnali and three districts in Far Western State. Ballot papers are being transferred from Kathmandu to long-distance east and west districts.

The printing of 15.483 million (80 percent) ballot papers has been completed by April 25. It is estimated that 19.4 million ballot papers will be required for the election. The remaining election materials have been sent to Dunai of Dolpa and Simikot of Humla by Nepal Army helicopters.
