National Sports Council provided financial assistance to six players undergoing medical treatment
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 26 – The National Player’s Welfare Fund, which is administered by the National Sports Council (NSC), has provided financial assistance to six players from five different sports who are undergoing medical treatment.
The fund distributed Rs 556,843 to six players on Tuesday. Jit Bahadur KC of Athletics and Bishnu Nepali of Karate, who presented Nepal with its first international medal, were each awarded Rs. 125,000 each.
Riya Kunwar of volleyball received Rs 63,929, Deepak Gautam of ITF Taekwondo received Rs 87,914, Kopila Bista of karate received Rs 75,000, and Sima Rajbanshi of badminton received Rs 80,000.
Deepak has shoulder problems, KC has hand injuries, Bishnu is suffering from paralysis and Riya, Sima, and Kopila have knee injuries.
Tankalal Ghising, member-secretary of the National Sports Council and chairperson of the fund, presented the players with a cheque during a function.
The assistance was distributed in the presence of Nepal National and International Sportsmen’s Association President Deepak Shrestha and other officials.
