22 candidates for mayor of Dharan
DHARAN: APRIL. 26 – Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City has 22 candidates for mayor and 11 candidates for deputy mayor.
A total of 471 candidates have registered for the May 13 local level election. According to the Office of the Election Officer, there are 22 candidates for mayor, including 14 political parties such as the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN-Unified Socialist, JSP, and 8 independents.
Renuka BK, Maulik Jaro Kilo Party, Dirpakumari Rai Mongol National Organization, Harkaraj Rai, Swatantra, Rajesh Kumar Rai, Rastriya Janamukti Party, and Ambar Bahadur Limbu from Sanghiya Loktantrik Rastriya Manch are among the mayoral candidates.
Susmita Karki, Sachet Nepali Party, Umesh Rai, Khambuwan Rastriya Morcha Nepal, Lokendra Bahadur Dangol, Amul Pariwartan Messiah Party Nepal, Suvarna Shumser Rai, Swatantra, Pasang Sherpa, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal, Manju Bhandari Subedi, Nepal Communist Party (UML), Surya Bahadur Neupane, Swatantra, Rajkumar Rai, Democratic Socialist Party Nepal, Ratna Bahadur Katuwal, Swatantra, Naresh Kumar Shakya, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Tajub Kumar Limbu JSP are among the nominated candidates.
Rewati Raman Rai, Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Socialist Party, Tolkumari Luintel, Swatantra, Kishor Rai, Nepali Congress, Sanjeev Bhattarai, Swatantra, Sanjay Pandey, Swatantra and Shyam Kumar Bhujel, Swatantra have nominated their candidates for the post.
A total of 11 candidates Aindra Bikram Begha, CPN-Maoist Center, Amrita Sunar, CPN-Unified Socialist, Datta Kumar Limbu, Swatantra, Padam Prasad Limbu, CPN-UML, Purnamaya Rai, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Prem Prasad Timsina, Swatantra, Bina Kumari Rai, JSP, Shyam Kumar Tamang, Rastriya Janamukti Party, Saraswati Subba, Sanghiya Loktantrik Rastriya Manch, Harka Raj Rai, Kirat Khambuwan Saja Party, Hem Kumar Dahal, Maulik Jaro Kilo Party nominated for the post of deputy mayor.
According to Assistant Election Officer Ganesh Prasad Khatiwada, 124 candidates have filed nominations for the position of ward chairperson in Dharan Sub-Metropolitian.
