Rebellious candidature by resigning from SSP
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 26 – Govind Kumar Sah has resigned as Senior Superintendent of Police of Nepal Police and has filed his candidacy for Mayor of Dhanusha’s Bideha Municipality.
After the Nepali Congress refused to give him a ticket, he independently registered his candidature for mayor. Sah stated that he has submitted his candidacy for the position of mayor with the development and good governance of the city in mind. Sah resigned as Nepal Police’s Senior Superintendent of Police a few weeks ago to contest in the local elections.
Similarly, Harinarayan Mahato, the outgoing mayor of Dhanusha’s Mithila Municipality, has registered his candidacy after being denied a ticket by the UML. After UML gave ticket to Rajaram Mahato for mayor, Harinarayan has given independent candidature.
