Maoist candidates unopposed in Myagdi

KATHMANDU: APRIL. 26 – A ward member of the CPN (Maoist Center) has been elected unopposed as the ward member of Gurja of Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-1 of Myagdi.

Sita Kumari Chhantyal, who is also the chairperson of the ward committee of the Maoist center, has been elected unopposed as a woman ward member. Assistant Election Officer of Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality Purna Bahadur Khatri stated that Chhantyal was the sole candidate for the post of women member of Ward No. 1.

The Maoists have opened an account in Myagdi without voting in the local elections. Chhantyal has become the only candidate in the unopposed district.
