Renu Dahal’s candidature from alliance in Bharatpur

CHITWAN: APRIL. 25 – Renu Dahal of the CPN (Maoist Center) has registered her candidacy on behalf of the coalition party for the post of chief of the Bharatpur Municipal Corporation.

Dahal announced her candidacy today on behalf of the coalition parties, which include the Nepali Congress. Along with her, Bharatpur Municipal Chairperson of the Nepali Congress Chitrasen Adhikari has filed his nomination for the post of Deputy Chief.

Dahal’s proponents include Nepali Congress Bharatpur Metropolitan Secretary and Communist Party of Nepal (Socialist) District vice-chairperson Krishna Raj Neupane. Dahal and Adhikari are candidates from the ruling five-party alliance.

They arrived at the Chief Election Officer’s office with a large number of cadres and registered their candidacy. Dahal was also elected metropolitan chief in 2074 BS, with the support of the Nepali Congress.

Dahal had resigned from the post just a few days before the nomination day. Adhikari was elected as the metropolitan ward chairperson in the 2074 BS election. He is currently the president of the Nepali Congress’s Bharatpur Metropolitan Committee.  The alliance has coordinated up to the wards in the metropolitian.
