Congress finalized on municipality candidate at Gorkha

POKHARA: APRIL. 25 – The Nepali Congress has finalized the ward candidates including the rural municipality chairperson and vice-chairperson of Gorkha. A meeting of the district working committee held till late at night distributed tickets. Most have old faces and some have new ones added.

Hom Bahadur Rana has been re-nominated as chairperson of Gandaki Rural Municipality, and Lalita Adhikari has been elected as vice-chairperson. Chairperson Santosh Gurung and vice-chairperson Phulmaya Gurung will be the candidates in Dharche Rural Municipality. Both are repetitive.

The new chairperson has been brought in Siranchok Rural Municipality while the vice-chairperson is old. Gyanendra Gurung and Rita Devkota have been given tickets for the post of chairperson and vice-chairperson respectively. Govinda Gurung and Indra Gurung have become candidates for the post of chairperson of Ajirkot Rural Municipality.

Nepali Congress has decided to nominate Roshan Gurung and Amrita Osti as the candidates for the post of Bhimsen Thapa rural municipality chairmperson. Both are new faces. Raju Gurung and Kalpana Nepali got tickets for Arughat Rural Municipality chairperson. Chairperson Gurung is new while vice-chairperson Nepali has been re-elected.

If Dhan Bahadur Gurung gets a ticket from the Nepali Congress for the post of Chumanuwri Rural Municipality chairperson, the vice-chairperson is yet to be elected. Jit Bahadur Ghale has become the candidate for the post of Barpak Sulikot Rural Municipality chairperson while the vice-chairperson remains.

Similarly, Narayan Lamichhane will be contesting for the post of Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality chairperson while the vice-chairperson is yet to be finalized. The municipality will be decided by the state committee.
