Congress alone in Kanchanpur, alliance between Maoists & Socialists
DHANGADHI: APRIL. 25 – Attempts to coordinate the election for Kanchanpur’s local elections have failed. The meeting, which lasted until late Sunday night, was unable to reach an agreement on the municipality’s division.
After a three-party alliance failed to reach an agreement, the Nepali Congress split. Congress withdrew as they were unable to reach an agreement. Similarly, the Maoists and the Unified Socialists have formed their own coalitions.
Jeevan Raj Thapa, a chairperson of the Unified Socialist Kanchanpur, stated that the two-party alliance has delegated chieftaincy to the Maoists in five municipalities and the Socialists in four municipalities.
The parties have to decide on the candidates and nominate them today. Nominations have to be registered by 5 pm today. All the three parties in the district have not been able to decide on the candidate yet.
