16 candidates filed their candidacies for post of mayor of Kathmandu on first day
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 24 – On Sunday, 16 candidates filed nominations for the post of mayor of Kathmandu Municipal Corporation. Sixteen candidates have filed their candidacies as of 5 p.m. The nominations process will continue tomorrow. Only independents and other parties have declared their candidacy as of today. Nationally recognized parties have not yet registered their candidacies.
There are eight candidates running for the post of deputy mayor. Similarly, 12 ward chairpersons and five ward members have been nominated.
Among the candidates for the mayoral post are Anandaraj Jaishi, Rabikant Manandhar, Rajan Karki, Balendra Shah, Samikshya Baskota, Suresh Ratna Bajracharya, Ram Bahadur Khadka, Sita Tamang, Manajraj Acharya, Gyanu Lama Tamang, Suman Sayami, Amit Maharjan, Bipin Raj Vaidya, Surya Thapa Shrestha, Dilliram Rajbhandari and Jetha Maharjan.
