KATHMANDU: APRIL. 24 – Balen Shah, an independent candidate for mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has stated that he will win by cutting the votes of the parties. “Yes, I have come to cut the votes of Congress, UML, and Maoists,” Shah said after registering his nomination on Sunday. “I will cut their votes and win.”
Shah claimed that 1.5 million of the more than 300,000 voters in Kathmandu were independent. “From what I’ve understood so far, more than 1.5 million voters in Kathmandu are neutral,” he added. They have responded well. I’ve been saying that I’ll be elected mayor with 90,835 votes.’
He even said that those who are worried about the new generation will vote for him.
