Nomination registration begins, ruling coalition to register tomorrow [Photos]
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 24 – The nomination registration program for the upcoming local elections has begun. The Kathmandu Metropolitan Election Office has been set up in the National Assembly. The parties will register their candidacies there. Only a few independent candidates have registered for the nomination registration program, which began at 10 a.m. today.
The CPN (UML) has also not registered its candidacy. The UML has decided to run Keshav Sthapit for mayor of Kathmandu. The ruling coalition has not declared its intention to run. In the Kathmandu Metropolitan, the alliance has decided to run Congress leader Prakash Man Singh’s wife Sirjana Singh. However, the ruling coalition will only register most of the candidates tomorrow.
The Election Commission has stated that the registration can be done till 5 pm on Monday.
