POKHARA: APRIL. 24 – The Nepali Congress Gorkha has also decided not to work with the Maoists. Due to central interference, the UCPN (Maoist)-Congress has decided to contest the election on its own.

Congress had made an agreement with the Maoists, claiming that the JSP had unreasonable demands. However, it has now decided to leave the Maoists and the alliance altogether.

According to Secretary Kishor Jung Thapa, an emergency meeting of the Nepali Congress has decided to field all candidates in all municipalities. The Congress equated itself with 7 municipalities and gave the Maoists 4 municipalities.

However, it has been decided to contest the election alone in all the 11 municipalities after the Center shrugged off the Congress with the decision to give two municipalities to JSP.
