UCPN-M’s request not to put party election symbol in non-candidate municipalities

KATHMANDU: APRIL. 22 – The CPN (Maoist Center) has requested the Election Commission (EC) not to put the party’s election symbol on the ballot papers of the non-candidate municipalities.
On Friday, the UCPN (M) wrote such a request to a commission. The commission has already started printing ballot papers. With the split in the ruling coalition, there will be no Maoist candidate for mayor of five metropolitan and two sub-metropolitian.
Similarly, the deputy mayors of one metropolis and nine sub-metropolises will not have Maoists.
