Desecration of under-construction statues Bhandari, Ashrit condemned
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 22 – The Madan Bhandari Foundation has condemned the vandalism of under-construction statues of Madan Kumar Bhandari and Jeevaraj Ashrit at Hetauda Sub-Metropolitian-9 in Makwanpur.
The Foundation in a press statement said its serious attention has been drawn to the incident terming it an undemocratic and perverted move.
“To cause damages to monuments commemorating two popular leaders dedicated to democratic and social transformation is an undemocratic action and is the reflection of a perverted mindset,” Foundation secretary Pemba Lama said in the statement.
As the Foundation claimed the incident that took place with the commencement of local level election procedures was itself a challenge to democratic force. It has demanded an investigation into the incident and action against the guilty.
