Printing of 11.9 million ballot papers completed
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 21 – So far, 11.9 million ballot papers have been printed for the local level election to be held on May 13.
At a regular press conference held in Kathmandu on Thursday, the Election Commission informed that 11.9 million ballot papers have been printed for 53 districts so far.
The process of printing ballot papers for the election, according to Commission spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel, is in full swing.
He said that the process of sending election materials to Bajura, Achham, Solukhumbu and Mugu districts has already started. Poudel said that the transportation of ballot papers will be started from April 27 by road and in Dolpa and Mugu by expressway or air.
According to Poudel, 44 national organizations have been granted permission to observe the local level elections.
He also stated that the Chief Electoral Officer’s office and the Electoral Officer’s office have been established in 77 districts, as well as the Electoral Officer’s office at all local levels.
According to Poudel, the report must be submitted to the commission within 30 days.
