Solukhumbu: Coordination in 2 municipalities, friendly competition in 6

SOLUKHUMBU: APRIL. 21 – Electoral coordination will be held at two local levels in Solukhumbu. There will be coordination in Mapya Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality and Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality of the district. The responsibility of preparing the ‘modality’ for coordination has been given to the Municipal Level Mechanism Committee.

In other municipalities, the leaders said, there would be friendly competition. According to Bhupendra Kattel, leader of the Maoist Center, Solukhumbu, in all the six municipalities except two, it seems certain that there will be friendly competition even within the alliance. There are 8 local levels in Salekhumbu. Whereas, this time there will be an alliance in two.

In the 2074 election, UML had won in Mapya Dudhkoshi, Khumbu Pasanglhamu, Nechasalyan and Sotang Rural Municipalities. Similarly, the Nepali Congress had won the only Rural Municipalities in Thulung Dudhkoshi, Mahakulung and Likhupike while the Nepali Congress had won the only municipality.

It has been unanimously decided to field their own candidates in Nechasalyan, Sotang, Mahakulung, Thulung Dudhkoshi, Likhupike Rural Municipalities and Soludhudhkund Municipality.

The parties in the alliance have agreed to integrate the Janata Samajwadi Party and the Unified Socialists into the wards where there is a referendum.
