Commission establishes election offices at local level across the country
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 21 – As the election date approaches, the Election Commission has accelerated the establishment of election offices across the country.
For local elections, the Commission has established offices of Chief Electoral Officer and Electoral Officer. The Commission has established the office of the Chief Electoral Officer of Kathmandu Metropolitan City in the National Assembly, according to Raju Khatiwada, Chief Electoral Officer of Kathmandu. According to Officer Khatiwada, the Election Commission’s schedule will be forwarded from the Election Officer’s office.
He also said that the election code of conduct would be investigated. “The commission has made arrangements for a staff of 9-10 staff in each election officer’s office,” he said. The Election Commission has scheduled the nomination registration of candidates for the May 13 local level elections on April 24 and 25.
The Election Commission has established election officials’ offices at the local level in each of the country’s 77 districts.
