COVID-19 Alert: High Vigilance at 16 borders with India & China

KATHMANDU: APRIL. 21 – The Ministry of Health and Population’s Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD) has directed that high vigilance be maintained at 16 Indian and Chinese checkpoints.

The department has instructed to be vigilant at the border as well as at the health desks at Tribhuvan International Airport and checkpoints.

The Division has set up border checkpoints at Pashupatinagar, Kakarbhitta, Rani, Inaruwa, Gaur, Madar, Rasuwagadhi, Tatopani, Jamunah, Belahiya, Krishnanagar, Trinagar, Gaddachauki, Birtamode, Jhulaghat, and Pulghat due to the increasing incidence of COVID-19 infection in India and China. The desk has been directed to prioritize screening and testing.

According to Dr. Chuman Lal Das, those who showed symptoms of COVID-19, were not fully vaccinated, and showed symptoms of COVID-19 during the screening at Tribhuvan International Airport, including 16 border checkpoints bordering India and China, were asked to be tested.
