WHO Director General in Kathmandu (with photos)
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 21 – Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), has arrived in Kathmandu.
On Thursday, he arrived in Kathmandu for a three-day visit at the invitation of Health and Population Minister Birodh Khatiwada.
Director-General Ghebreyesus was greeted by Ministry officials at Tribhuvan Airport.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he will be in Nepal until April 23.
Dr. Poonam Kshetrapal Singh, Director of WHO’s Southeast Asia Regional Office and other WHO officials are also part of the visiting team.
During his visit to Nepal, Director-General Ghebreyesus is scheduled to hold courtesy meetings with President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timalsina, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
