KATHMANDU: APRIL. 21 – An explosion at an oxygen plant in Lalitpur’s industrial area killed one person and injured six others.

Brij Mohan Mahato, an Indian citizen from Bihar, India, has been identified as the deceased, according to Lalitpur Police Spokesperson SP Siddhi Bikram Shah.

Seven more people were injured during the explosion. Six of the injured were taken to Patan Hospital. One of the injured is being treated at B & B Hospital.

The blast completely destroyed the oxygen plant and damaged nearby houses.

The explosion occurred at the Sagarmatha Oxygen Plant around 10 a.m. on Thursday. An investigation into the incident is underway said Lalitpur SP Siddhi Bikram Shah.

Following the incident, Industry Minister Dilendra Badu expressed his grief. He stated that the oxygen cylinder explosion was a new occurrence and that it would be investigated.

Minister Badu stated that he would meet with the families of the deceased and injured and that the government would provide any assistance that was required.
