Coordination of UML & LOSAPA in Birgunj

KATHMANDU: APRIL. 21 – CPN-UML and Democratic Socialist Party (LOSAPA) Nepal have agreed to coordinate in Birgunj Metropolitan City of Parsa. It was informed at a joint press conference in Birgunj on Thursday that an agreement has been reached between the two parties.

In the upcoming local elections, UML will run for mayor and LOSAPA will run for deputy mayor, according to the agreement. Though UML has recommended continuing the mayor of Birgunj, Bijay Sarawagi, the party has not disclosed who will be the next deputy mayor.

The mayor of Birgunj Metropolitan City is on the JSP’s side, according to the distribution of seats in the ruling coalition on Wednesday. Congress has agreed to nominate a candidate for the position of deputy mayor.
