Governor Adhikari returns to Rastra Bank
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 20 – Following the Supreme Court’s order, Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari has returned to regular work.
Adhikari returned to work on Wednesday after the Supreme Court issued a short-term order in the name of the government on Tuesday allowing the governor to carry out his official duties. Adhikari was greeted warmly by the NRB staff upon his arrival.
Following his return to work, Governor Adhikari stated that he had raised his voice in support of the system, adding that everyone supported it.
He stated that the NRB, the Governor, and the Ministry of Finance were not individuals but institutions, but that various incidents would bring such a situation to light, and that he would work without request or prejudice.
Earlier, Adhikari was suspended after the Ministry of Finance formed an investigation committee. After that, it was also ordered to allow the highest-ranking official to take up the post.
