Leader of Tharuhat movement Lahuram Chaudhary passes away

DHANGADHI: APRIL. 19 – Lahuram Chaudhary, the Tharuhat-Tharuwan movement’s leader and the president of the Tharu Kalyankari Sabha Kailali, has died.

Chaudhary, who was critically injured in a motorcycle crash, died while receiving treatment in ICU at Dhangadhi’s Maya Metro Hospital.

Chaudhary was hit by a motorcycle (State 02-03-017-Pa 5973) driven by Samir Ghimire, 29, of Shuklaphanta Municipality-4 of Kanchanpur on Saturday.

During the constitutional-drafting process, Chaudhary led the Tharuhat/movement. He was released after being imprisoned for three and a half years for his role in the Tikapur incident in 2072 BS.
