Metropolis Distribution: Kathmandu, Lalitpur & Biratnagar to Congress

KATHMANDU: APRIL. 19 – The ruling coalition has finalized the distribution in three metropolis cities.

A coalition meeting in Baluwatar on Tuesday decided to give the Congress three of the six metropolitans, with the Maoists, Unified Socialists, and JSP obtaining one each.

According to the agreement, the Nepali Congress now has leadership in both the Kathmandu Valley metropolitan area and in Biratnagar, which is located outside of the Kathmandu Valley.

Similarly, the Unified Socialists will be given the leadership of Pokhara Metropolitan City. The CPN-Maoist Center has agreed that the Bharatpur Metropolitan City will be led by the CPN-Maoist Center, and the Birgunj Metropolitan City will be led by the JSP.
