KATHMANDU: APRIL. 19 – A writ petition filed by Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari of Nepal Rastra Bank against his suspension is being heard on Tuesday.

The governor’s writ petition, filed on Sunday, was registered by the court on Monday, and the hearing was set for Tuesday.

His writ petition will be heard by Judge Hari Prasad Phuyal in a single sitting. Governor Adhikari has filed a writ petition against the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, requesting that the suspension be lifted.

The governor has suspended about two weeks ago after the government accused him of being responsible for the current economic crisis, refusing to cooperate with the government, and leaking confidential information.

The government has also formed an inquiry committee to investigate the governor, which will be coordinated by former Supreme Court Justice Purushottam Bhandari.
