After the dispute in Pokhara, Deuba called district president to Kathmandu
POKHARA: APRIL. 19 – After the dispute within the alliance erupted, central president Sher Bahadur Deuba summoned district president Kishor Dutta Baral and state president Shukra Raj Sharma to Kathmandu. According to a source in Congress, they were summoned for an election-related discussion.
District president Kishor Dutta Baral, on the other hand, stated that they were unaware of the reason for the call. On Tuesday morning, they left for Kathmandu. Baral said that former minister Yagya Bahadur Thapa was also travelling with them. The Pokhara mayor, according to Congress, cannot be released under any circumstances. The Unified Socialists have a strong claim here as well.
The alliance meeting between the two parties was tense. On Monday, Congress issued a statement warning against forming an alliance with the Unified Socialists. The UCPN (Maoist) has also warned that it will join forces with the UML. The coalition meeting, on the other hand, is taking place today.
Earlier, district leaders of the Nepali Congress had besieged Sanepa, declaring that they would not abandon Pokhara’s mayor. President Deuba had chastised the leaders, claiming that the discussion on the metropolis issue had not yet begun. Deuba has now summoned the district presidents to Kathmandu for a meeting to discuss the election.
