DHANGADHI: APRIL. 18 – The CPN (Unified Socialist Party) has recommended two candidates for the position of mayor of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolis.

Madan Raj Regmi and Lokendra Bania have been recommended as mayoral candidates by the party’s city committee. Regmi is the chairperson of the Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan committee and Baniya is a member of the state committee.

Similarly, Roji Basnet was unanimously elected as the city’s Deputy Mayor. The Vice-Chairperson of the Sub-Metropolitan Committee is Deputy Mayor Basnet.

In addition to recommending candidates, the city commission has decided to field candidates in all 19 wards of the Dhangadhi sub-metropolis, according to Chairperson Regmi.

He stated that the district committee would make a decision on the ward chairperson’s question based on the recommendations received from the ward.

Despite ongoing discussions among the ruling coalition parties about electoral coordination, the parties continue to select candidates internally.

The CPN-Maoist Center has unanimously recommended the peace officer for the post of mayor of the sub-metropolis only two years ago. Congress has not yet recommended a candidate.
