NC & JSP agree to compete in a friendly manner
BIRGUNJ: APRIL. 18 – The ruling Nepali Congress and the JSP have agreed to a friendly contest in the upcoming Parsa district local elections.
The two parties have agreed to go for friendly competition in the district without electoral coordination, according to a joint statement issued by Congress district president Janardan Singh Chhetri and JSP district chairperson Ram Naresh Yadav.
As there will be no coordination between these two parties in the district’s upcoming election, they will field their own candidates in all 14 local levels, including Birgunj metropolis.
While the central leaders of the five parties of the ruling coalition are working hard to contest the election, they have agreed to compete in a friendly manner without coordination between the two parties in the district.
There is only one Birgunj Metropolitan City, three other municipalities, and ten rural municipalities in the district.
Previously, in Birgunj, Mayor Bijay Kumar Sarawagi, who was elected from the then-Federal Socialist Forum Nepal, joined the CPN (UML). According to reports, he has also been appointed for mayor by the UML.
