UML Central Secretariat meeting being held
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 18 – The Nepal Intellectuals Council, which is close to the party, has facilitated the preparation of the manifesto and commitment letter to be issued by the CPN (UML) for the upcoming local elections at the district and municipal levels.
UML is releasing a manifesto at the national level and a commitment letter at all municipal levels on April 22. The council had organized a national workshop and trained two people from each municipality to coordinate the preparation of a commitment letter.
Gajendra Thapaliya, the council’s general secretary, stated that the trained council members are working in collaboration with the relevant committee at the municipal level.
A meeting of the UML Standing Committee held on March 27 had decided to ask for suggestions in the manifesto. On March 30, Chairperson KP Sharma Oli delivered a virtual address to the leaders and cadres of all municipalities. To draft the declaration, a committee led by senior vice-chairperson Ishwor Pokharel has been formed.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the UML Central Secretariat is being held today to discuss the election’s selection process and manifesto.
