CPN-U recommends 5 names for Pokhara mayor

POKHARA: APRIL. 16 – CPN-U has recommended the names of mayor and deputy mayor of Pokhara. A meeting of the metropolitan committee on Saturday recommended five candidates for mayor and three candidates for deputy mayor.

Leaders including in-charge Srinath Baral, district chairperson Dhanraj Acharya, Bijay Babu Banbasi, Madan Kaji Shrestha and Prem Thapa have been nominated for the post of mayor while Hom Bahadur Nepali, Purna Lama and Sangita KC have been recommended for the post of deputy mayor.

In Pokhara, there is a strong possibility that the Unified Socialists will get the mayor. There appears to be more competition between Baral and Acharya. They are both dealing with their confidence as they choose to engage in their play activities.

Following that, the tickets for the mayor and deputy mayor will be decided based on the recommendations of the state and district committees.

While the names of the mayor and deputy mayor are being proposed, ward candidates have yet to be chosen. Due of the alliance, there is even more confusion in Pokhara.
