UML selects candidate in Machhapuchhre election
POKHARA: APRIL. 16 – CPN-UML has selected a candidate in the Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality of Kaski district through internal voting.
Following the finalization of the chairperson and vice-chairperson names, a definite name was recommended through voting. The chairpersons have been elected as Bikram Gurung, Lal Bahadur Pariyar, and Bhagwati Gurung. Along with the current vice-chairperson, Krishna Kumari Dawadi who has claimed for the post of chairperson 7 has been defeated.
Britumaya Tamang Gurung, Parbati GC, and Sita Tiwari have all been nominated for vice-chairperson. In Machhapuchhre, ten people had filed nominations for the position of chairperson, and seven for vice-chairperson. Karna Bahadur Gurung, the incumbent, has stated that he will not do so again.
Eighty-five of the committee’s 88 members voted. In Machhapuchhre, UML nominees Krishna Kumari Dawadi, Yadunath Adhikari, Nandlal Adhikari, Nawaraj Shahi, Rajendra Gautam, Harish Chandra Dhungana, and Purna Bahadur Gurung were also present.
