Rebellion in Bharatpur Congress, many cadres resigned

KATHMANDU: APRIL. 16 – Dozens of cadres in Bharatpur have split from the party over the mayoral post of Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

During a program at Beluwa Tole on Saturday, more than 50 Nepali Congress cadres from Bharatpur resigned en masse.

Last Wednesday, the metropolis’ ward presidents announced that they would field independent candidates for the positions of ward chairperson and members in all 29 wards of the Bharatpur metropolitan mayor’s party.

They handed over the decision to party president Rajeshwar Khanal.
