Nepali football team in preparation for Asian Cup qualifiers

KATHMANDU: APRIL. 16 – The Nepali national football team is training for the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers in Kuwait. The players are hoping to do well in the upcoming selection, which will be held in June.

The football team’s players stated that, despite the difficult competition this time, they will fight and hope for a positive outcome.

The Nepali team’s vice-captain, Rohit Chand, stated that the team’s focus is on the Asian selection and that good plans have been made. He stated that all three teams competing in Nepal are strong.

Coach Abdullah Al Mutairi stated that the possibility of not being selected for the Nepal Asian Cup on the first day may have been brought up to encourage the players. He says that the main focus for the development of football should be on the grassroots.

Similarly, team player Sujal Shrestha stated that they will move forward by strengthening the team in a new way rather than looking back at Najita. He stated that the coach’s words were used to build confidence in him.

Nepal is in Group A of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. The group includes Kuwait, Indonesia and Jordan. Kuwait, Indonesia, and Jordan are among the members of the group. The selection games will take place from June 8 to June 14. Nepal will begin the selection process against Jordan on June 8.

On June 11, Nepal will face with Kuwait in the second match. On June 14, Nepal will face with Indonesia. The top team from each group will compete in the Asian Cup 2023, which will be held in China.
