Magar Homestay comes into operation

NEPALGUNJ: APRIL. 16 – A Magar homestay has been brought into operation at Dhaulagiri of Khajur rural municipality-3 in Banke district.

Naumati Community Homestay has been brought into operation at Dhaulagiri, the settlement of Gurung and Magar communities, after two years of continuous efforts.

The Magar Community brought the homestay into operation in order to make people enjoy Magar culture, traditions and civilization. In the beginning, nine houses has been brought into operation as a homestay.

It is said that the Magar homestay would help protect Magar culture and traditions as well as emphasis has been given on Magar art, traditions, culture and food after the operation of the homestay.

The Chairperson of Khajur rural municipality, Kismat Kumar Kashyapati, expressed the belief that the homestay would help for the prosperity of Khajura as homestay is also connected with economic prosperity.

Similarly, the Chairperson of Naumati Community Homestay, Chhabi Kala Thapa, said that guests visiting the homestay would enjoy and entertain Magar culture as well as dance on the tune of Naumati baja (a Nepali traditional music instrument) would also be presented.

A local Magar leader, Chitra Bahadur Rana Magar, mentioned that the homestay was brought into operation with the objective of protecting and conserving Magar culture and tradition for the coming generation.

Likewise, General-Secretary of Homestay Federation, Krishna Chaudhary, opined, “It is necessary to promote homestay as it is a good means of income generation.”
