Defendant escaped from prison by digging a tunnel arrested

SURKHET: APRIL. 15 – Defendant absconding from Surkhet Prison Office have been arrested. According to the Karnali State Police Office, the arrest was made at around 12:30 pm on Friday.

Defendant Bhakta Bahadur Shahi, 47, of Barahatal Rural Municipality-8 in Surkhet, was arrested from Bhatteghari by a police team from the State Police Bureau Surkhet and the Police Post Baddichaur.

He was absconding after digging a tunnel from the prison on the night of Magh 2, 2058 BS while he was serving his sentence on Chaitra 2, 2052 BS at the Surkhet Prison Office.

Defendant absconding in the life case has been handed over to the district court in Surkhet after his arrest.
