KATHMANDU: APRIL. 15 – The Special Committee on Parliamentary Hearings has called for complaints about 20 proposed ambassadors to various countries.

Committee President Laxman Lal Karna informed that the committee meeting held at Singha Durbar on Friday requested that any complaint against the proposed ambassador be submitted to the committee within 10 days of the parliamentary hearing.

Complaints can be lodged at the committee’s office in Singha Durbar, via email, the post office, or the district administration office. According to President Karna, arrangements have been made to file a complaint even after attending the committee.

Earlier, on April 7, the Council of Ministers decided to recommend 20 people for the post of ambassador, including eight from the Foreign Service.

According to the constitution of Nepal, there is a provision for a parliamentary hearing of the ambassador before the appointment. If the hearing committee approves the recommendation, the appointment process will move forward.
