Four accused in gruesome murder of Arjun Das of Kailali been made public

KATHMANDU: APRIL. 15 – Four people have been arrested in connection with the heinous murder of Arjun Das in Kailali.

The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office has nabbed four fugitives on suspicion of murdering Arjun Das, 25, who was found dead inside a community forest in Janaki Rural Municipality-9, Amrawati, Kailali.

Among the arrested are 19-year-old Sumit Saud, Manoj Bhandari, Dilip Das and Bam Bahadur Bohora. Superintendent of Police Krishna Prasad Koirala, a spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, stated that the investigation into Das’s death by his group was killed while he was under the influence of drugs on the charge of stealing a mobile phone.

He stated that they were detained by police by a special investigation team dispatched by the branch based on confidential information obtained from the Rupendehi border.

They have been sent to Kailali District Police Office for further investigation. Arjun, a resident of Janaki Rural Municipality-9, Amrawati, who left home on December 17 last year, had not returned home till night. On December 18, Saturday, a woman who went to cut grass in the forest found a deceased body with a beheading tied to a tree in the Amarawati Community Forest.
