KATHMANDU: APRIL. 15 – Barcelona has been knocked out of the UEFA Europa League. Barcelona was knocked out from the competition after losing to German club Eintracht Frankfurt in the second league of the quarterfinals last night.

With a 3-2 victory over Barcelona, Frankfurt secured a place in the semifinals with a 4-3 overall lead. Earlier in the quarterfinals, the first league ended in a 1-1 tie.

Filip Kostic scored twice and Rafael Maury scored once for Frankfurt. Barcelona scored both goals in injury time. Sergio Busquets scored in the 91st minute and Memphis Depay scored from the penalty spot in the 11th minute of extra time. Evan Ndicka of Frankfurt also received a red card for the game.

Frankfurt will now face Premier League club West Ham United in the semi-finals. Similarly, RB Leipzig and Rangers will meet in the next semi-final. The first leg of the Europa League semifinals will take place on April 28 and the second on May 5.
