Pokhara’s Lakeside hosting a New Year’s Festival beginning on Wednesday
POKHARA: APRIL. 12 – New Year festival is starting from Wednesday in Pokhara. The 17th edition of the festival has been organized on the lakeside of Phewa Tal.
The organizing hotel association Pokhara has informed that the preparations for the festival have been completed by holding a press conference. The festival will run till April 14.
According to the association’s president, Laxman Subedi, the festival is organized to preserve Nepali culture and promote traditional Nepali food. He stated that the festival would be critical in boosting tourism from COVID-19. The festival has been rescheduled after being postponed for two years in a row due to COVID-19.
After COVID-19, now the tourist activity in Pokhara has increased a lot. According to the hotel association, the hotels here currently have an average occupancy of 25%, and bookings for New Year’s target hotels have reached 50%.
