KATHMANDU: APRIL. 11 – A foreign tourist, who fell ill in course of a mountain trek, has been rescued using a helicopter this morning.

Oren Jaib Eden, an Israeli citizen with passport number 33162322, was rescued from Rasuwa’s Chandanbari and flown to Kathmandu by an Air Dynasty chopper.

According to Nwang Finjo Tamang of Hotel Red Panda in Chandanbari, the tourist fell ill on Sunday and was rescued this morning. He was rescued only this morning as a result of poor weather in the upper areas of the Rasuwa district on Sunday.

Eden was brought to Chandanbari on Sunday evening with the support of local hotel entrepreneurs and sent to Kathmandu this morning.

Dawa Sherpa, Air Dynasty’s Flight Manager, stated that the tourist is being treated at Kalopul’s Swagan Hospital. Eden and a friend had gone trekking, and he began experiencing headaches on Saturday after reaching Gosainkunda. It is situated at a height of 4,380 meters.

It has been requested that tourists notify the Syaphrubesi-based tourist police or the District Police Office if they become ill or require assistance while trekking, according to police.
