All violators of code of conduct will be punished: Chief Election Commissioner

KATHMANDU: APRIL. 8 – Dinesh Thapaliya, the Chief Election Commissioner, has stated that anyone who violates the election code of conduct will face consequences.

On Friday, he told a press conference at the commission, “If the code of conduct is violated, the commission will take appropriate legal action. Nobody will be exempt.” ‘There is no doubt that it will not be implemented.’

He stated that a monitoring structure has been established from the center to the local level, and that the commission will closely monitor its implementation. He also stated that the media should closely monitor the implementation of the code of conduct.

The election code of conduct goes into effect at 12 am night on today.
