Solukhumbu: Construction of five-party mechanism, coordination in election is certain
SOLUKHUBMU: APRIL. 8 – The ruling five-party alliance has formed a district-level mechanism in Solukhumbu for the upcoming local elections.
A coalition meeting held on Friday at the district headquarters in Salleri established a mechanism focusing on local elections. Simultaneously, it has been decided that an alliance will be formed in the local level elections.
The meeting was attended by Nepali Congress, Solukhumbu President Namgyal Jangbu Sherpa, CPN (Maoist Center) District Coordinating Committee, Solukhumbu Coordinator Ashim Rai, CPN (Unified Socialist), Solukhumbu Chairperson Dorji Jangbu Lama and JSP, Solukhumbu Chairperson Narendra Thapa Magar has been created an integrated mechanism.
The coalition parties will be unable to coordinate with other parties, according to a joint press statement issued following the meeting.
The meeting concluded that an atmosphere of mutual trust should be created among the alliance’s affiliated parties in order to ensure the victory of the alliance’s candidates in the election. The meeting, presided over by Namgyal Jangbu Sherpa, district president of the Nepali Congress in Solukhumbu, also agreed that the Nepali Congress would play its proper role in holding the election in a dignified and fearless manner.
Sherpa, President of the Nepali Congress, presided over today’s meeting. According to sources, in the coming days, the leaders of the partner parties will take turns chairing the meetings.
