PM Deuba called a coalition meeting
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 8 – A meeting of the ruling coalition is being held to discuss the upcoming local elections. The meeting will be held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar after 11:30 am.
Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ Chairperson of the CPN-Maoist Center, Jhala Nath Khanal, Leader of the CPN-Unified Socialist Party, and Vice President of the Nepali Congress Purna Bahadur Khadka have arrived in Baluwatar for the meeting. JSP and Rastriya Janamorcha leaders are also present at the meeting.
The five-party coalition has agreed to run together in the Baisakh (April/May) local elections. The framework for electoral coordination, however, has not been finalized.
It is expected that discussions will take place about the preparations for local-level elections as well as the challenges that have emerged.
