KATHMANDU: APRIL. 8 – The famous Biska of Bhaktapur: The construction work of the chariot required for the Jatra has reached the final stage. Biska is celebrated in the courtyard of Naumadhi, i.e. Nyatapol temple, in Bhaktapur’s center, beginning on the 27th of Chaitra (April 10)

A three-storey pagoda-style chariot is built-in Biska to house a statue of Bhairavnath, a form of Kashi Vishwanath. It is in this chariot that the Bisca Jatra begins, with a statue of Bhairavnath.

Biska, which has historical and cultural significance, begins with the arrival of the New Year and is celebrated for eight nights and nine days. Bisca: Jatra is also celebrated in Thimi of Madhyapur and Tokha of Kathmandu.
