ISLAMABAD: APRIL. 7 – Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan launched a 911 helpline here on Thursday to provide emergency relief services through a unified platform, the Prime Minister’s Office said.

Every citizen will be able to get the state’s response in case of an emergency in any part of Pakistan, the prime minister said while addressing the launching ceremony of the helpline.

It’s a major step towards the development of the country on the pattern of a welfare state, he added.

The integrated Pakistan Emergency Helpline-911 will provide emergency services like fire brigade, police, health assistance, disaster recovery and motorway police, among others, the Prime Minister’s Office said.

Khan said that the helpline will also enable the country to maintain crime data while helping in assessing the requirement of resources in different sectors of the country.
