KATHMANDU: APRIL. 7 – The main opposition CPN-UML is going to the Election Commission.

According to UML leader Bishnu Rijal, the party led by party general secretary Shankar Pokharel will leave the party at 1 p.m. on Thursday.

Previously, the UML had returned without signing following a disagreement at a meeting called by the Election Commission last Saturday. The commission had requested that the parties sign a commitment letter stating that they were committed to the code of conduct. The UML, however, withdrew without signing after the smaller parties raised concerns.

The UML is being presented to the Commission today for further discussion and signature.
