10 people applied for post of mayor of Gorkha from NC

POKHARA: APRIL. 7 – In Gorkha municipality, 10 people have applied for mayor from Nepali Congress. While the names of hopefuls are being collected by Congress, ten people have expressed interest.

The names of district-level leaders including the current mayor Rajan Raj Panta have been mentioned. Gorkha Congress Vice President Iman Singh Basnet, District Secretary Kishor Jung Thapa, Deputy Mayor Bina Kumari Shrestha, Gandaki State Member Shova Adhikari, General Convention Representative Purna Bahadur Panta, District Member Bishwa Dev Shrestha, Ward Chairperson Dil Bahadur Thapa, Leader Bhugol Thapa and Municipal Executive Member Hari Gandhari have submitted their nomination forms.

Minadevi Shrestha, Pushpa Shrestha, Sharad Shrestha, Goma Dawadi, Masalimaya Thokar (Sapana Pun), Pampha Gandhari and Rita Pariyar have claimed for the post of deputy mayor.

Chairperson Chandan Babu Khatri stated that a consensus candidate would be chosen once the names presented to the Municipal Committee were discussed, and if that was not possible, the party would be fielded.
