Order to keep Paul Shah in custody
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 7 – Actor Paul Shah, who is in jail on charges of raping a minor singer, has been remanded in custody by the Nawalpur District Court for trial. Shah was remanded in custody for trial by a court led by Justice Arjun Adhikari.
Three lawyers from the minor’s side and nine from Shah’s side debated on Wednesday, according to court lawyer Deepak Bhattarai. Bhattarai says, ‘Tanahun court ordered. The same is here. The teenager’s side has demanded that Shah be sentenced to 12 to 14 years in prison.
On Tuesday, Shah, who is being held in the Tanahun District Jail, was brought to the Nawalpur District Court on charges of raping a minor. On March 17, a rape charge was filed against him in Nawalpur.
Shah was remanded in custody for trial on March 24 following an order from District Judge Harish Chandra Dhungana.
