Accused of Kabita Sunuwar’s murder made public

UDAYAPUR: APRIL. 6 – The accused in the murder of a girl at Buddhachowk in Belaka Municipality-3 of Udayapur district has been apprehended by Udayapur police.

Binod Dhakal, a resident of the Indian state of Sikkim, Byung currently living in Belaka Municipality-3 and a minor of Belaka Municipality-3, were arrested on the charge of being involved in the murder of 16-year-old Kabita Sunuwar, a class 10 student at Koshi Janata Secondary School, according to the District Police Office in Udayapur.

The perpetrators of the murder were made public, according to the District Police Office in Udayapur, during a press conference on Wednesday.

According to Subash Chandra Bohora, District Police Chief Superintendent of Police, the accused Dhakal has been remanded in custody for seven days, and the minor has been remanded in custody for five days.

Sunuwar was killed in a planned manner by Dhakal and the minor by hitting her with a beer bottle and a stone. District Police Office, Udayapur, said, “Sunuwar and her classmate harbored a grudge against each other for long and the minor girl sought her brother Dhakal’s help to kill Kabita.”

Police have also recovered the pieces of the beer bottle and a stone used in the incident.

Similarly, political parties and various organizations and human rights activists in Udayapur have demanded to investigate the true facts of Kabita Sunuwar’s murder and bring the perpetrators to justice.
